Job Title: Project Manger
Reports to: YFB Executive Director
Project: Healthy Kitchen for School Meals.
Period: 2 months Renewable subject to performance.
Location: Sana’a
About Yemeni Food Bank:
Yemeni Food Bank (YFB) a humanitarian, non-profit, developmental, neutral, civil society organization with an independent entity, established in 2017 under the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor permit No (20 -2017). Working to combat hunger by creating factors and requirements to achieve sustainable food security and to organize humanitarian work to raise its efficiency and effectiveness through a system of programs, projects, and activities based on studies and research by the strategy (help, rehabilitation, empowerment) to eliminate hunger as one of the most important goals of the millennium for sustainable development, and achieving sustainable food security.
Job Purpose:
Undertakes the tasks of running the project activities through planning, organizing, leading, and supervising all project activities through the exploitation and directing of resources efficiently and effectively to achieve its objectives in accordance to the terms, conditions, quality standards and deadlines set by the donors to fulfill the obligations of the Yemeni Food Bank and maintains a name and reputation in front of society in general, businessmen, International and local donor organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1- Manages all project works, guides its employees, and evaluates their performance within the framework of the approved rules, regulations and policies for the project and the Yemeni Food Bank.
2- Works to manage and direct the project resources and use them efficiently and effectively in a way that serves the project’s objectives and interests and preserving all its assets and properties.
3- Works to create and enhance distinguished relations with donors and the various partners in the project.
4- Supervises and monitors the preparation of the executive plans and the general operational budget for all project activities and follows up their approval, monitors and evaluates their implementation periodically especially those related to the main activities of the project such as ensuring the provision of foodstuffs and all requirements for food production to ensure continued production and delivery of meals to beneficiaries on time in accordance to the technical specifications, requirements, health, other donor contracts requirements and the level of implementation of food awareness activities and logistical services associated with those activities.
5- Supervises the preparation works, the founding installations for the project, the preparation of the structures, organizational competencies, and the procedures for settlement and finishing the project.
6- Undertakes the tasks of office and field supervision on a continuous basis to verify closely the progress of producing, packing, packaging and distribution preparation as well as the procedures for handling, receiving, transporting and delivering to the beneficiaries to verify compliance with the hygiene, health, quality standards, conditions and specifications determined by the donors.
7- Undertakes coordinating activities with the donor and related parties in the project and within the framework of the competence and powers granted and provides them with all the required periodic data and reports according to the financing contracts after studying and reviewing them.
8- Directs to disburse operational expenses of the project from the financial allocations according to the allocated purposes and within the framework of the approved estimated budget and specific powers and signs cash exchange documents and checks. In a way that do not contradict with the statute and the executive regulations of the Yemeni Food Bank.
9- Holds periodic meetings to discuss all reports submitted by project’s administrative units and M & E reports.
10- Follows up the preparation and delivery of the project’s final accounts and other required financial statements to YFB and submits them to the YFB’s executive management and donors.
11- Works to study and analyze the causes of all the problems and obstacles facing the project and activities, solutions and their effects, and to take appropriate decisions in accordance to the competencies granted to serve the project objectives and in a manner that does not contradict with the statute and the executive regulations of the Yemeni Food Bank.
12- Supervises the study and assessment of potential risks and participates in the preparation of precautionary plans and measures to avoid the project's exposure to the potential impacts of those risks if they occur to ensure the continuous operation of the project under all variables in the surrounding environment.
13- Works to implement the approved internal regulations and work systems and the relevant laws and legislations in force.
14- Prepares and submits periodic completion reports to the YFB’s management and the Board of Trustees.
15- Works on developing the skills and capabilities of the project staff.
16- Performs any tasks assigned to him by the executive management of YFB and the Board of Trustees within the framework of the job assignment.
Required Competencies:
Has all the competencies to manage and conduct all project activities, manages and directs resources according to the programs and projects unit to ensure the achievement of objectives and in a manner that does not contradict with the statute and the executive regulations of the Yemeni Food Bank.
Responsibilities:
Fully responsible to professionally execute his duties, fully devoted, responsible for all decisions issued, signed documents and all works are subject to review and evaluate.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor / Master in Business Administration –Accounting- Economics-Other related majors.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years experience in similar position at a similar project.
